Princeton, as it's known today, began with the coming of the Virginia Railroad early in the twentieth century. The first commercial district literally rose from the railroad tracks up to East Mercer Street where a half dozen buildings still stand.

This recreation of the original railroad station commemorates the history of the railroad in our area and provides visitors with an understanding of the impact the railroad had on our city.
